The spiritual emphasis in third grade is on the Church as a community. The students come to know our role and responsibility in the Catholic Church
The students are introduced to many new and exciting concepts including: cursive writing, multiplication and division. Critical thinking skills and oral and written expression are developed through the use of a reading textbook and a variety of quality literature. Science and social studies develop new meaning through hands-on experiences.
Third grade themes and projects include: The Moon, Energy and Sound, Minnesota History and Government. Traditional highlights are Word of the Day, Grandparents Day Mass, Biography Report and Fun In The Sun Day.
The development of independent work habits is stressed. Students receive daily homework and it is their responsibility to see that it is completed and returned each day. The students will also complete at least one long-term project. These expectations will help develop self-discipline and solid study habits.
