We will continue to follow the CDC and MDH guidelines for our COVID protocols this fall. While we all hoped by now that COVID would no longer be disrupting our daily lives, we continue to see the impact of this virus throughout our greater community. New guidelines were announced in early August.
We will continue to ask parents and students to monitor their health for COVID related symptoms and to test when appropriate. Students do not need to quarantine if they have been in close contact with an individual that has tested positive, however they should monitor for symptoms and if they become symptomatic, they should test. If a family member tests positive the student may return to school but must wear a mask for 10 days and watch for symptoms.
Any student or staff member who tests positive must quarantine for five days. If symptoms are diminished and the person is fever free for 24 hours without medication to control the fever, he or she may return to school.
